Elixir's Website

Managed the transfer of elixirsolutions.com to a new Adobe platform, AEM Live (also known as Franklin or Helix), in under five months and updated the code base, resulting in Google Lighthouse scores going from an average of 65 to a near-perfect 98-100.

Through rigorous testing and updates, we created an experience that exceeds federal accessibility standards and made the user experience much better. The goal was to transfer the site and bring it up to modern standards, however I wanted to exceed the minimal success requirements.

Using GItHub issues and milestones, I tracked deliverables and assigned tasks as needed. I also set up bi-weekly sprint planning meetings, during which we discussed priorities and the site philosophy that drove clean practices.

The milestones were roughly as follows:

  1. Transfer all content and confirm the site functions
    • The blog was added to the site and moved off an external platform
  2. Audit base code and make structural updates and enhancements
  3. Design review
  4. Accessibility review
    • Screen reader testing
    • Read order testing
    • Suggesting additional instructions to ensure navigation is clear
  5. Address accessibility and design in the code and the content
  6. User experience testing
    • Testing forms, links, and connectivity
    • Testing redirect URLs
  7. Final code audit and design updates
  8. Launch
  9. Post-launch testing
  10. Post-launch fixes
  11. Ongoing updates and enhancements
